The course is for CET I. It teaches failure criteria for pressure vessels for safe reactor design.

Introduce stress and strain relationships for thin walled pressure vessels. Derivation of, and application of, Mohr's circle to find principal stresses and strains. Tresca's and van Mises failure criteria and their application for safe design.
